State Sen. Aisha Wahab (D) has won the special election to serve out the remainder of former Rep. Eric Swalwell’s term in California’s 14th Congressional District. The Associated Projects Wahab’s victory over Bay Area Rapid Transit Board President Melissa Hernandez.

Wahab’s win fills the seat left vacant after Swalwell resigned in April following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
