Accuracy matters more than preserving an earlier version of a story. This policy sets out how we assess errors and make material corrections visible.
Report an error
Email corrections@thebrieflypulse.com with the article URL, the disputed wording, and supporting evidence or source links. Our contact page also lists general contact details. Response times vary; we cannot guarantee a response within a fixed number of hours.
Review and correction
- Check the evidence: Compare the disputed claim with the cited reporting and relevant new evidence. A claim that lacks support is not automatically proved false, but should not be presented as established fact.
- Make a proportionate change: Correct confirmed errors, remove unsupported assertions, or clarify ambiguity. New developments should be distinguished from errors in the earlier reporting.
- Explain material changes: Add a visible, dated correction or clarification note describing what changed. Keep the original publication date distinct from the article’s update time.
- Preserve the record: Retain the previous content and the reason for material corrections in editorial records or revision history.
Minor edits and serious concerns
Spelling, punctuation, and grammatical repairs that do not change meaning may be made without a separate correction note. An update timestamp alone does not replace a note explaining a material factual correction.
If a story’s central claims cannot be supported, it may be withdrawn from public view while reviewed rather than left online as established news. A material withdrawal should be explained to readers when the outcome is established.
