Google has launched Googlebook, a new category of premium laptops designed to work seamlessly with Android phones. Pre-orders began September 21, with devices set to hit shelves on October 4, starting at $899. The laptops feature high-end hardware, long battery life, and built-in AI tools like Gemini to help organize tasks and create custom widgets.

Googlebook aims to create the seamless ecosystem experience that Apple users have long enjoyed between iPhones and Macs. The laptops will sync phone settings, messages, and files instantly, allowing users to pick up tasks where they left off on their phone without hassle. This represents Google’s push to strengthen its hardware-software integration in the competitive laptop market.

What to watch

Five initial Googlebook models are available from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and Asus, all meeting Google’s premium standards including 16GB RAM, 45+ TOPS performance, and 14+ hours of battery life. Each purchase includes a year of Google AI Pro with 5TB storage. The distinctive Glowbar LED strip identifies these devices, though it remains unclear if Google will release its own Made by Google Pixel model in this line.
