Apple’s Health App Redesign Now Available in Developer Beta

Apple's redesigned Health app now in developer beta with Health Age, readiness scores, and movement assessments.

The update

Apple’s redesigned Health app is now available in the iOS 27.2 developer beta, introducing new features that transform it from a data repository to an intelligent health platform. The app includes an Insights tab with daily metrics and trends across categories like sleep, fitness, and readiness. A new Longevity tab features Health Age, which estimates how your body functions relative to your actual age, and movement assessments measuring flexibility, strength, and balance.

Why it matters

This redesign positions Apple’s Health app as a direct competitor to fitness-focused wearables like Whoop and Oura. Previously, Apple’s app primarily served as a storage for raw health data without providing meaningful analysis. The new features leverage Apple’s AI capabilities to offer personalized insights and recommendations, potentially making the Apple Watch more valuable for health-conscious users.

What to watch

Additional features including personalized summaries, recommendations, and the ability to order labs from Quest are expected in future beta releases. Apple hasn’t announced a public release date beyond “later this year.”
