Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta Goes Live

Xbox opens the Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer beta for all players.

The update

Microsoft has opened the multiplayer beta for the upcoming Gears of War reboot, E-Day. The beta is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It runs through the weekend, concluding on August 17 at 10am PT. Players with an Xbox Game Pass Essential or higher subscription can access the beta on both console and PC.

Why it matters

This is the first public look at the multiplayer mode for E-Day, a reboot of the long-running franchise. The beta introduces a new 12-player PvE mode called Horde Siege, alongside the traditional 4v4 Versus PvP. The event aims to gather player feedback to shape the full game, which launches on October 6.

What to watch

Players can complete challenges during the beta to unlock exclusive rewards. The event is limited to the weekend, so interested players should start their download now. Console players must have an active Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription to play online multiplayer.
