Hyperliquid Launches Native Lending as HYPE Hits Record High
Hyperliquid introduces native lending as HYPE surges past $90, enabling users to borrow stablecoins against HYPE or Bitcoin collateral.

The update
Hyperliquid has opened a native manual borrowing service, extending its trading infrastructure into credit. Users can now pledge HYPE or Bitcoin as collateral to borrow USDC or USDT directly through HyperCore. The protocol reported $269 million in assets borrowed on the day of launch, giving the new product immediate scale. The rollout exposes lending infrastructure that had largely operated beneath Hyperliquid’s portfolio-margin system.
Why it matters
This move extends Hyperliquid’s core functionality beyond trading into credit and yield generation. By allowing users to move between trading, collateral, and credit within the same ecosystem, the platform reduces reliance on separate lending protocols. The launch coincides with HYPE reaching a fresh all-time high above $90, with a 65% loan-to-value ratio compared to Bitcoin’s 50%.
What to watch
Monitor the adoption and stability of this new credit market, which had access to over $400 million of supplied liquidity from the outset. The design keeps lending risk separate from derivatives exposure while allowing other products to tap the same market.
