Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Live on PS5
The Modern Warfare 4 Early Access Beta is live on PlayStation 5, introducing fluid movement mechanics that are already dividing the player base.
The update
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is now available for Early Access on PlayStation 5. The beta introduces fluid movement mechanics, allowing players to climb pipes, hang from ledges, and chain slides while maintaining momentum. The update includes a Mobility Course for practice, 22 weapons to test, and six Core 6v6 maps. Players can also try new modes like Inflation, which turns eliminations into cash bounties.
Why it matters
This is the most extensive look yet at Modern Warfare 4, following the Call of Duty: Next showcase. The beta is the first opportunity for players to experience the new movement systems and gameplay changes before the full release. The shift in movement speed and mechanics is a significant departure from previous titles and will impact the competitive landscape.
What to watch
Player reactions to the new movement mechanics are mixed. Some players are frustrated with the increased pace and “slide spam” meta, while others welcome the faster gameplay. The beta is available now on PlayStation 5, with a wider release expected later.
