Rainbow Six Tactics Announced
Ubisoft's new Rainbow Six Tactics blends turn-based strategy with Siege's tactical destruction mechanics.

The update
During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, Ubisoft announced Rainbow Six Tactics, a turn-based tactical game set in the Rainbow Six Siege universe. The game will feature 15 operators from the popular FPS, including fan favorites like Doc and Ash. Players will take on the role of Paul Bishop from Rainbow Six Vega, leading his team on missions across 45 handcrafted maps with 90+ minutes of cutscenes. Players will build squads using different operators to take on objectives including hostage rescue, bomb disposal, and target eliminations.
Why it matters
This spin-off offers a single-player tactical experience in the Rainbow Six universe. By shifting to a turn-based format, Ubisoft is creating a different way to experience tactical gameplay while maintaining the franchise’s signature destruction mechanics. The game’s connection to the ongoing Siege storyline suggests Ubisoft is expanding its universe beyond traditional multiplayer formats.
What to watch
How Ubisoft balances tactical depth with accessibility remains to be seen. The studio has confirmed there will be no in-game store or microtransactions, but final pricing hasn’t been determined. The game’s reception could influence Ubisoft’s approach to future Rainbow Six projects.
