Police shot and killed Abdul Ballout, 21, after he rushed at officers with a knife in Berlin’s Spandau district. Ballout’s criminal history included a 2022 assault and robbery conviction. In May, he was sentenced to 22 months in prison for preparing a serious act of violence against the state.
